Owner of WP Security Ninja

Lars Koudal

I'm Lars Koudal, owner of WP Security Ninja. Denmark-born, Hollywood Florida-based WordPress security specialist with 25+ years in tech.

I might do new tech, but I am old school.

I’m Lars Koudal. I’ve spent over two decades in tech. I was born and raised in Denmark, and in 1996 I graduated with a degree in Media Economics from the Interactive Media & Marketing Academy. From there I built a career across media production, SEO, and web development.

Early on that meant CD-ROM production, 3D animation, and CGI for film and television, including work on the Danish film Webmaster. I also spent over seven years as a freelance linguistic tester for Electronic Arts, working on titles for PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo. Later it meant SEO and PPC, then full-time WordPress work.

My path took me from Denmark to Barcelona in 2008, where I worked as an SEO/PPC manager before going full-time as a WordPress and SEO consultant in early 2009. In 2015 I moved to South Florida, and today I live and work in Hollywood, FL. I work in Danish, English, German, and Spanish.

In 2008 I founded CleverPlugins, where I build WordPress plugins with a focus on useful features and a straightforward experience. I’ve been part of the WordPress community since 2005, have shipped free plugins along the way, and have attended WordPress meetups in Barcelona and WordCamps in Miami. Alongside WP Security Ninja, I also own SEO Booster, SEO Perception, and Delete Duplicate Posts through CleverPlugins.

I took over WP Security Ninja in 2019 through my company, Larsik Corp. The push came from years of cleaning up hacked sites for myself and clients, and from seeing how often security tools felt too complex for everyday WordPress users. Since then I’ve been developing, supporting, and selling the plugin with one goal: make WordPress security approachable without watering it down. That means 50+ security tests, a malware scanner, cloud firewall, login protection, scheduled scans, and the kind of clear reporting that helps you fix issues instead of guessing. The free plugin is on WordPress.org, with Pro available here on the site.

Through Larsik Corp I still do custom WordPress work and SEO analysis when it fits. I’ve worked with clients across industries like pharmaceutical, real estate, restaurants, membership sites, online shops, and car rental. Day to day I’m strongest in PHP/MySQL, project management, and digital marketing, and I bring that mix into how I build and support Security Ninja.
